Blackcurrant

BENEFITS:

Helps relieve heaviness in your legs and contributes to proper blood circulation.

DESCRIPTION:

Blackcurrant is a fruit that is extremely rich in vitamins, antioxidants, and minerals. It is also rich in polyphenols, tannins (proanthocyanidins), and pigments (anthocyanins) that have protective properties on both your vascular and visual functions.  It helps improve capillary patency, tone of veinous walls, blood flow, and reduce high blood pressure and heavy legs.

It also acts on eye fatigue, improves eyesight as well as the microcirculation of blood in your eye. Lutein and zeaxanthin found in fruits and blackcurrant are responsible for forming the retina's active pigment, and undoubtedly play a protective role against damage from sunlight.

To maximise the effects of blackcurrant on blood circulation, it is also recommended to combine it with other plants such as grape vine, horse chestnut or even cherry stems.

FACTS:

Blackcurrant is one of the richest fruits in vitamin C. It contains 4 times more vitamin C than an orange does!

RESTRICTIONS AND RISKS:

The blackcurrant does not incur any side effects nor any specific medical contra-indication. It is however advisable to remain vigilant for pregnant or breast-feeding women as a precaution.
